Easter activities

Hooray, it’s nearly the holidays again! With Easter just around the corner, we’ve pulled together a listing of the goings on in the area that families can enjoy together. We’re adding more and more as and when things are announced, so do keep checking back. All these Easter family activities are also featured in our calendar (you can filter by ‘Seasonal/Holiday Activities’). Ham House

6th to 22nd April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Ham House. Track down 10 lost feathers around the gardens and find out about the birds that they’ve come from. Can you find all of them to claim your egg reward? There will be extra fun activites across the house and gardens: see where feathers and bird motifis have been used to decorate the house; enjoy a traditional egg and spoon race in the gardens; take part in arts & crafts; and dress up with bird wings in the back parlour. Normal admission charges plus £3 per trail.


Hampton Court Fair

18th to 23rd April, 12.00-11.00pm: Easter fair on Hampton Court Green in East Molesey. The Hampton Court Funfair, crammed with family fun and white knuckle rides, is gearing up for its annual showpiece this Easter. It has entertained families through generations and has become a focal point of local life, running for over 150 years. A special Punch & Judy show joins a packed Bank Holiday weekend featuring children’s rides, traditional games and stalls, a wonderful Carousel as center-piece, and even a Ferris Wheel. Free admission, but on the 18th you can buy a wristband for £2.00 and then enjoy half-price rides with the profits supporting Princess Alice Hospice.


Hampton Court Palace

6th to 22nd April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace in East Molesey. Take your family back in time and join in the hunt around the home and gardens of Henry VIII. Pick up the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt trail map when you arrive at the palace. Follow the clues on the trail to find the golden bunny statues hidden around the palace and gardens, whilst discovering some of Hampton Court’s famous characters from the past. Solve the challenges to win your delicious Lindt Gold Bunny chocolate reward! Plus the Magic Garden reopens on the 30th March. Normal admission applies.


Kempton Park Racecourse

20th April: Easter Family Fun Day at Kempton Park Racecourse, Staines Road East in Sunbury-on-Thames. Enjoy the exciting on track action and free entertainment for the kids including pony rides, petting farm, soft play and face painters. All this and KIDS GO FREE! Standard advance tickets £16.00 (children under 18 free when accompanied by an adult).


Kew Gardens

6th to 22nd April, 10.00am-6.00pm: Easter at Kew Gardens. From storytelling to creative workshops, enjoy fun activities at Kew This Easter. Find out why light is so important for plants to survive and thrive. Decorate ornaments with UV pens and learn all about how light and colour spectrums help plants grow. Add your artwork to a Tower of Colour to make a stunning display. Get your hands dirty and plant your own seeds to take home. Other activities and attractions include Sunday stories, the log trail, woodland walk, giant badger sett, and the glasshouses. Normal admission charges apply.


London Museum Of Water And Steam

6th to 23rd April, 10.00am-4.00pm: Secrets Of The Museum at the London Museum Of Water & Steam, Green Dragon Lane in Brentford. This Easter, get ready to have an eggcellent time at the Museum. Enjoy their Did You Know? hidden facts, where you can discover some important pieces of information about the Museum, and learn more about why they’re famous. Follow the Splash Cat trail and find all of the numbers to complete your journey around the Museum, visit a special exhibition Hidden Treasures, and spend some time making engines come alive at the magic craft table! London Wetland Centre

6th to 22nd April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Giant Easter Duck Hunt at the London Wetland Centre, Queen Elizabeth’s Walk in Barnes. This Easter, go quackers and challenge your family to explore the wetlands looking for giant yellow ducks hiding amongst the reeds, trees and their real-life cousins. Follow special activity cards to find where these cheeky ducks are hiding and win a yummy prize, while learning all about the wetland wildlife. Price: £1 per trail, plus normal admission (includes prize). As well as the Giant Duck Hunt, there will be plenty of other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, including pond dipping, wild play and animal track detectives.


Osterley Park

6th to 22nd April, 10.00am-4.00pm: Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Osterley Park & House, Jersey Road in Isleworth. Join the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt and explore the gardens to discover the birds that live at Osterley. They’ve hidden eggs decorated to look like the eggs of birds that can be seen at Osterley all around the Great Meadow. Find the eggs, then visit the Stables Walled Garden to collect your chocolate prize. Normal admission charges apply plus £3.00 per hunt (includes chocolate prize).


Squires Garden Centre

8th to 12th & 15th to 18th April, 10.00am-3.00pm: ‘Create & Grow’ Easter holidays event at Squires Garden Centre, Sixth Cross Road in Twickenham. Children can plant a stylish bucket or watering can with succulent plants and decorate with Easter stickers (£6.00), and take part in a Spring Hunt and receive a sweet treat. Look for clues around the centre to help find the magic word. All correct answers receive a gourmet chocolate pizza slice (£2.00)! Drop-in events, while stocks last.


Strawberry Hill House

21st & 22nd April, 11.00-4.00pm: Garden Easter Trail at Strawberry Hill House, Waldegrave Road in Twickenham. Over Easter Sunday and Monday go down to Strawberry Hill Garden to take part in their Walpole Explorer Egg Hunt. Collect all the stamps for a chocolatey prize! £2.00 on the door, no booking required.
