Christmas Fairs Twickenham

Here’s our round up of the Christmas fairs, lights and markets in the area. As ever, they start very early! Saturday 9th November


– 11.00am-4.15pm: Normansfield Christmas Craft Fair, Normansfield Theatre

Langdon Down Centre, 2A Langdon Park, Teddington TW11: Craft Fair in aid of the Down’s Syndrome Association. 28+ stalls will be selling all handmade items on the day – Christmas decorations, prints, cards, jewellery, scented candles, floral arrangements, cafes and much more.


Thursday 14th November – Tuesday 31st December

– Sun-Wed 10.00am-6.00pm; Thur-Sat 10.00am-8.00pm: Christmas Market, All Saints Church

Market Place, Kingston KT1: Throughout the traditional wooden cabins, discover a treasure trove of unique and handmade giftware, perfect for stocking fillers and unusual gifts. You’ll find bars serving up steaming mugs of mulled wine and classic street-food, plus a live entertainment stage, a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a vintage carousel for the little ones. It’s the perfect way to soak up the atmosphere and get into the Christmas spirit.


Sunday 17th November


– 10.00am-4.00pm: Strawberry Hill House & St Mary’s University Christmas Festival, Strawberry Hill House

Waldegrave Road, Strawberry Hill TW1: Now in its fifth year, visitors can enjoy a day of festive shopping and seasonal décor in the stunning setting of Strawberry Hill House and connecting neighbour St Mary’s University. Including bespoke and original hand-made gifts, local crafts & produce, Christmas styling across the historic rooms, demonstrations, tastings and inspired gifts to purchase – visitors can enjoy a truly experiential festival. A delicious selection of festive foods will also be on offer. Entrance £5.00.


Thursday 21st November


– 12.00-6.30pm: Christmas Lights Switch On & Festivities, Richmond Town Centre

Various locations, Richmond TW10: The Christmas Market on Hill Rise (12.00-7.00pm) is the perfect place to get your Christmas shopping off to a flying start. All items are from local designer makers and, to keep you cosy whilst you shop, there will be festive foodie treats along with a warm mug of mulled-wine or hot chocolate.. Take the little ones to Santa’s Grotto, magical garden and Christmas fair at The Vineyard Community Centre, The Vineyard, TW10 6AQ from 2.00-6.00pm (£2.50 including a gift, face painting and other festive activities). All proceeds go towards helping the homeless. At 5.45pm the magnificent Band of The Irish Guards will perform at Richmond Riverside before leading a parade of Richmond schoolchildren to the main stage in George Street (close to Tesco Metro and Russell & Bromley) and the area will be a hive of festive activity from 5.00-6.30pm. Lights will be switched on by PADDINGTON at around 6.15pm. This year, the lights will have much wider coverage throughout the town, with a special display feature at the station. The event will close with a spectacular firework display on Richmond Green at around 6.45pm.


Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th November


– 6.00-8.30pm (Friday) & 10.00am-5.00pm (Saturday & Sunday): Sparkle Contemporary Craft & Gourmet Food Fair, Teddington

Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road TW11: Your sparkling festive season starts here! See and buy a dazzling range of contemporary work from more than 70 designer makers including jewellery, glass, ceramics, stylish accessories and so much more, plus a mouth-watering selection of gourmet food. Hundreds of bright and bold gift ideas. Entry £4.00 per person (under 18s free).


Saturday 23rd November


– 10.30am-2.30pm: Festive Craft Fair, Teddington Baptist Church

Church Road, Teddington TW11: The annual craft fair with over 20 stalls where shoppers will be able to enjoy a range of professional designers/makers. Food and drink will be available in the café throughout the day, and a charity cake stall will be on hand to provide sweet treats. New for this year will be a range of workshops for adults and children to take part in – why not learn a new skill or make some Christmas gifts? Suitable for all abilities. Children can enjoy meeting guests from the Mill Cottage Farm Experience in Hampshire, and there will be a free fun activity trail, face painting and dedicated inside area with crafts and activities.


Sunday 24th November


– 2.00-6.00pm: Christmas Lights Switch On Event, Twickenham

The Green, Twickenham TW2: It’s that time of year again when Twickenham will light up for Christmas, marked by an event not to be missed. For the past five years the Try Twickenham BID businesses have funded the Twickenham town lights and festive event. This year’s event will be a fun-filled afternoon of music and singing from local schools, dance groups and Church choirs, Powerjam (a local not-for-profit Rock & Pop band) workshops, Santa’s Grotto, Giant Snow Globe, games, and the cast of Sleeping Beauty which will be showing at The Exchange in December. There will be stalls, FREE face painting and giveaways, entertainment and family-friendly activities.


– 11.00am-3.00pm: Christmas Market, Twickenham

St James’s Catholic Church Hall & Emmanuel Centre, Radnor Road, Twickenham TW1: All are welcome to join the annual Christmas Market. Stalls, food, drinks, raffle, games and Santa’s grotto.


– 12.00-6.00pm: Light Up Whitton

Various locations, TW2: Join the annual street market and Christmas Light Switch On event. Featuring over 50 guest stalls plus special offers from regular High Street Traders – do you all your Christmas shopping in one place and see Santa Claus in his grotto!


Thursday 28th November


– 4.30-8.00pm: Teddington Lights Up, Teddington Town Centre

Various locations, Teddington TW11: The annual Teddington Lights Up event organised by Teddington Together will be bigger and brighter than ever!The Christmas lights will be switched on by actor Michael Cobb – from Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Bohemian Rhapsody. Traders in High Street, Broad Street, The Causeway and Church Road will be participating and all the usual favourites will be on offer… live music, late night shopping, mulled wine, mince pies, food tasting, children’s competitions and, of course, the Christmas lights countdown and switch-on. Go and join the fun! Broad Street events 4.30-8.00pm. High Street events 5.30-8.00pm. Lantern procession, Church Street 5.00-5.30pm. Lights switch on, Elmfield Gardens 6.00-6.30pm. 


Friday 29th November


– 5.00pm: Christmas Lights Switch-On, East Twickenham

In front of Dolphin House Uniform Shop, Richmond Road TW1: East Twickenham Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.


Saturday 30th November


– 10.30am-1.30pm: Elleray Hall Christmas Fair, Teddington

Elleray Road, Teddington TW11: Stalls will include jewellery, home-made cakes, crafts, Christmas gifts, a selection of games, bargain stall, a Christmas raffle, Father Christmas and refreshments. All money raised on the day will go towards the future provision of the many services Elleray Hall offers to the local community. Entrance £1.00 (children free).


– 11.00am-2.30pm: St Mary With St Alban Christmas Bazaar, St Mary’s Parish Hall

Langham Road, Teddington TW11: A great Christmas family event. There will be Santa’s Grotto, face painting and Christmas crafts, plus mulled wine and delicious homemade cakes to get you in the festive mood. There will also be books galore, nearly new children’s toys and some wonderful raffle prizes! Entry £1 (children free).


Saturday 30th November & Sunday 1st December


– 10.00am-5.00pm: Christmas Shopping Weekend, Orleans House Gallery

Riverside, Twickenham TW1: This year the hugely popular Christmas Shopping Weekend gets even better, with the introduction of an external market in the Stables Courtyard. There will be some of the best London-based and local designers and makers to produce the perfect mix of gifts – with over 30 stalls in total.As well as the unique combination of elegant indoor shopping and colourful outdoor market, there will be festive music and family craft throughout the weekend. The new café will also be open for mulled wine, hot drinks and delicious festive treats.


Sunday 1st December


– 4.00-7.00pm: Hampton Village Christmas Celebrations

Various locations, Hampton TW12: Hampton welcomes Christmas to the Village, with shops and businesses open for fun & games.There will be a Passport To Santa, where children visit shops and businesses to collect stickers for their passport so they can visit Santa in his grotto. There will be a land train for fun rides from one end of the Village to the other, local bands playing, and schools and community groups singing and performing on two stages in the Village. Christmas trees will be lit up, and there will be a marquee on the Village Green for charities, local community groups, handicraft workers, and the Naughty Or Nice Wheel Of Fortune Game for extra fun.

Friday 6th December – Sunday 8th December


– 10.00am-6.00pm (Friday & Saturday) & 10.00am-4.30pm (Sunday): Festive Fayre, Hampton Court Palace

East Moseley KT8: Eat, drink and be merry as the Hampton Court Palace courtyards are transformed into a food-lover’s Christmas wonderland. Among the chefs and experts joining the Palace for live cookery demonstrations are Chris Bavin, Barney Desmazery and Marcus Bean. Soak up the atmosphere and spirit of the season with sing-along festive classics, with fabulous food and drink. Browse unique gift stalls and watch seasonal cooking demos live in The Kitchen. With everything from Christmas pudding to sausages, and brownies to churros, the 100 hand-picked artisan producers and companies are guaranteed to delight even the most committed foodie.


Saturday 7th December


– 11.00am-3.00pm: Christmas Fair & Children’s Silent Disco, Collis School

Fairfax Road, Teddington TW11: Mulled wine, sweet stall, tea & coffee, hot food, bottle and chocolate tombola, Santa’s Grotto 11.00am-2.30pm, Christmas trees for sale, £5.00 for a 30 minute boogie in the Silent Disco, smoke machine and loads of light-up fashion accessories for sale on the day.


– 1.30-5.00pm: Craft Fair, Twickenham

St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham TW1: Handmade Christmas gifts by local people. Up to 19 stalls of items such as jewellery, cards, sewing, art,  knitting, decor, clothing, candles and more. Free entry.


Sunday 8th December


–11.00am-5.00pm: Christmas Fayre, Church Street

Twickenham TW1: Church Street will be celebrating the start of the Christmas season with their Christmas Craft Fayre. There will a great variety of craft stalls from local artists and businesses, and the Church Street traders will be getting into the Christmas Spirit with tempting gifts, offers and displays. There will be plenty of Christmas entertainment for everyone with live music from local bands, face painting, glitter tattoos, crafts for children, and Punch and Judy.


Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd December


– 9.00am-5.00pm (Sat) & 10.00an-4.00pm (Sun): Christmas French Market, Church Street

Twickenham TW1: Enjoy the weekend festive, fun & authentic annual Christmas French Market in Church Street Twickenham. It will a great place to pick up last minute presents, with French soap, honey, tablecloths, basket ware, scarves, hats, jumpers, delicatessen, tartiflette, charcuterie, cheeses, crepes, sausages and more. Soak up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere, and the wonderful small and fiercely independent Church Street traders will also be open and putting on their best show to tempt you with their wares.
