Christmas Fairs, Lights & Markets 2023

Here’s our round up of the Christmas fairs, lights and markets in the area. As ever, they start very early! Lots of things haven’t been announced or confirmed yet, so this guide will be updated on an ongoing basis. Enjoy!

12th November

  • ETNA Winter Sparkle: 1.30-3.30pm, The ETNA Centre, East Twickenham TW1.
  • Join the ETNA winter festivities at their sale, by talented local vendors of arts and crafts, ideal for Christmas or just to cheer yourself up. As well as fabulous arts and crafts there will also be good quality nearly new clothing available for purchase. £2/adult entry. More information here.

16th November – 31st December

  • Kingston Christmas Market: Sun-Wed 10.00am-6.00pm, Thur-Sat 10.00am-8.00pm; Ancient Market Place, Kingston KT1.
  • Enjoy a European-style Christmas market in a traditional British setting. Get into the festive spirit at Kingston Christmas Market, one of the most magical Christmas markets in London. Wander around under twinkling fairy lights, enjoy a mug of mulled wine and choose from an assortment of delicious food to get you in the Christmas spirit. Fill your stocking with gifts from the festive market – with a selection of unique retailers and delicious food, it’s the perfect experience for finding the presents you’re looking for. From continental bratwurst to hog roasts and street food from across the globe, there’s all the festive fayre you could ask for, as well as a carousel for the kids, classic Christmas carol singers and live music. 17th – 19th November

  • Sparkle Festive Fair, Teddington: 4.00-8.30pm (Friday); 10.00am-5.00pm (Saturday & Sunday), The Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington TW11.
  • A weekend where the Landmark becomes home to a plethora of artists and makers who produce stunning, high quality art & craft gifts; including ceramics, jewellery, homewares, prints, candles, and soaps, plus small batch spirits, local craft beers, biscuits, chocolates etc. The perfect place to kick off your Christmas Shopping! Entry £3.00-5.00 per person. More information here.

18th November

23rd November

  • Teddington Christmas Lights Up: 4.30-8.30pm, Teddington Town Centre, TW11.
  • The event starts with The Teddington Con Club on Stanley Road holding an Indoor Market from 4.30pm. Followed by the ever popular lantern procession starting on Church Road and going down Broad Street at 5.00pm. The High Street and Church Road will be closed at 5.30pm. There will be Christmas lights on the lampposts and trees, live music, shops staying open, stalls, children’s rides, mulled wine, children’s competitions, face painting, food tastings and so much more. Church Road will be closed for the night where you’ll find stalls and live music outside Roan Records. There will be performances on the High Street stage from Richmond Theatre, Canine Gymkana, The Hornets, The Landmark Choir with Tom Speight closing the night. You can visit the High Street to see a real fire engine from Twickenham Fire station located near Cote along with the Salvation Army Band. You’ll also find the RNLI, Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Choir, Teddington Rugby and The Rotary Club bringing their own form of festive entertainment to the night throughout Teddington. 24th November

  • Christmas Lights Switch On: 3.00-7.00pm, Twickenham Town Centre TW1.
  • Enjoy the annual switching on of the Christmas lights in Twickenham! Featuring Christmas carols around the tree, live entertainment and music on the Riverside Radio stage. Visit Santa in his grotto and follow the Twickmas trail. More information here.
  • East Twickenham Christmas Lights: 4.30pm, 364 Richmond Road, East Twickenham TW1.
  • East Twickenham’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony – join the festivities! Enjoy mulled wine and mince pies along with some amazing Christmas entertainment with performances from the local schools. Speeches and the lighting ceremony will be followed by choir singing! More information here.
  • Hampton Hill Christmas Parade: 5.30-8.30pm, Hampton Hill TW12.
  • There will be stalls, kids rides, live music, raffle, classic cars, festive food & beverages, parade and lots more, including the switching on of Hampton Hill’s main Christmas tree! More information here.

25th November

  • Frost Fair, Kew: 11.00am-2.00pm, Barn Church, Kew TW9.
  • Christmas starts early at the Barn Church’s annual Frost Fair. There will be seasonal stalls, a cafe, live music, activities for children – and it’s rumoured that Santa Claus may stop by… Go along and join the fun! More information here.
  • Christmas Craft Fair: 10.30am-2.30pm, Teddington Baptist Church TW12.
  • Farm with alpacas; face painting; refreshments & light lunches; cakes; nativity tableau dressing up; children’s craft activities; 20 craft stalls; free entry. More information here.
  • Mortlake Hall Christmas Fair: 2.30-5.50pm, Mortlake Hall SW14.
  • Santa’s Grotto & Christmas Fair. Join an afternoon of festive fun! Exciting mix of stalls; arts & crafts; hot chocolate & mince pies; the one-and-only Santa (£3 for grotto tickets). Entry £2 adults, £1 children.
  • St Mary With St Alban Christmas Bazaar, Teddington: 11.00am-2.30pm, St Mary’s Parish Hall, Teddington TW11.
  • A wonderful family and community event, with a hog roast and mulled wine, Santa’s grotto, raffle, children’s crafts and games, tombola and delicious home-made baking: cakes, pies, jams and chutneys. Free for children. £1 entry for adults. More information here.

25th & 26th November

  • Richmond Riverside Christmas Market & Lights Switch-On Event: 11.00am-5.00pm, Riverside & Whittaker Avenue, Richmond TW9.
  • Along Richmond Riverside, there will be a delightful Christmas Market. Discover over 35 stalls featuring a beautiful selection of independent businesses, including health & beauty, jewellery, fashion, home & leisure, art, and an array of mouthwatering food and drinks. Whittaker Avenue will transform into a magical Winter Wonderland, complete with enchanting Christmas elf workshops and perfect selfie spots, including a whimsical sleigh. Enjoy the heartwarming melodies of local choirs and don’t forget to drop by the Christmas Post Box to send your wishes to the North Pole. A spectacular family event that promises to make your Christmas unforgettable. A special light switch-on ceremony takes place at 4.00pm on the 25th, with a special guest appearance by the Deputy Mayor and beloved characters from the Richmond Theatre pantomime, Dick Whittington. Sunday 26th November

  • Light Up Whitton: 12.00-6.00pm, Whitton High Street TW2.
  • Christmas Market with over 50 quality stalls. Free Santa’s Grotto. Live entertainment. Grand Christmas lights switch-on. Family-friendly fun day. More information here.

1st December

  • Kew Sparkle: 5.00-8.00pm, Kew Village, TW9.
  • An evening full of festive cheer! Supported by local schools, businesses and residents, Kew Sparkle offers stalls selling Christmas gifts, stocking fillers, decorations and so much more.  In addition, there will be choice of mouth-watering food stalls along with mulled wine and other alcoholic offerings for adults. There’s a host of entertainment too – new this year a mobile Nativity farm, plus the usual popular fairground rides and festive music. There will be festive tunes from the primary school choirs, plus a performance from Rock Choir and more! More information here.

1st – 3rd & 8th – 10th December

  • Hampton Court Palace Festive Fayre: 10.00am-6.00pm, Hampton Court Palace, East Moseley KT8.
  • By popular demand, this favourite festive event is back for not one, but two glittering weekends. Hampton Court Palace’s magnificent courtyards and grounds will be transformed into a food-lover’s winter wonderland once again. With a dazzling market featuring over 100 independent artisan producers, you’ll be sure to find the perfect Christmas gift for even the trickiest loved one. There’s more on offer than just shopping. A stunning festive lover’s wonderland, you’ll be bowled away by delicious craft food and drink. With everything from Christmas pudding to sausages, and brownies to churros, the hand-picked artisan producers and companies are guaranteed to delight even the most committed foodie. 8th December

  • Barnes Christmas Festival: usually c4.00-8.00pm, Barnes Village SW13.
  • Barnes Village transformed into a winter wonderland with local choirs and music groups performing throughout the village, late night shopping, Father Christmas at Rose House and some festive stalls and funfair rides on Barnes Green! More information here.
