Peace Pilates

Peace PilatesPeace Pilates in Hampton is a small but fully equipped matwork studio offering private one-to-one and small group (max 5) Pilates classes to all abilities. Teacher, Kate Carrott, also offers the added benefit of being able to visit clients at their own home or local venue of choice.

As a mum to two young boys and having experienced difficult births and diastasis recti herself, Kate has a great first-hand understanding of the changes the body goes through during pregnancy and after. This, coupled with her training with some of the leading teachers in pregnancy and postnatal fitness, means her classes are perfect for any expectant or new mum. As Kate herself puts it:

“Becoming a mum is a huge experience and changes you both mentally and physically. It can be difficult to find time to do anything for yourself but it is so important”.

It’s not just new and expectant mums who can benefit from bespoke classes with Peace Pilates. Kate’s fully personalised and flexible approach, including a detailed postural assessment Peace Pilatesand tailormade exercise programme (complete with homework for you to take away), pays close attention to correct posture and alignment. The aim is to strengthen your whole body from the inside out, lengthen and tone muscles, increase flexibility and create symmetry and balance… something anybody young or old, male or female, could really benefit from.

Peace Pilates’ fully personalised, progressive programmes mean each session is specifically designed around your body, your needs and your goals. Such close attention means you achieve the best results whilst progressing safely and effectively. Helping mums is a cause close to Kate’s heart:

“Throughout pregnancy, gentle Pilates practice can help maintain a good posture, minimise back ache, encourage relaxation, prepare the body for birth, and strengthen you in preparation for motherhood. Following your 6-8 week postnatal check and sign-off from your GP, postnatal Pilates is perfect to ensure a safe and steady recovery. Helping you to regain core strength, counter the effects of breastfeeding and classic new mum posture, alleviate backache, and ensuring you are fit and strong enough to cope with the challenges of being a mum”.

Babies are more than welcome at all classes and Kate offers a relaxed, friendly and supportive approach, ensuring baby is happy. You can even exercise with them right next to you on the mat. All equipment is provided, including baby toys!
