Hooray, it’s nearly the holidays again! With Easter just around the corner, we’ve pulled together a listing of the goings on in the area that families can enjoy together. We’re adding more and more as and when things are announced, so do keep checking back. All these Easter family activities are also featured in our calendar (you can filter by ‘Seasonal/Holiday Activities’). Ham House

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt: The Safe Cracker at Ham House. Learn about the different birds who live around Ham by finding all 20 of their eggs around the garden. Find the letters on the eggs to piece together the code which will crack the safe and release a chocolate egg. Normal admission charges plus £3 per hunt map (includes chocolate prize).


Hampton Court Fair

30th March to 3rd April, 12.00-11.00pm: Easter fair on Hampton Court Green in East Molesey. This superb festival of fun has been open for over 150 years! The fair includes everything you could hope for on a bank holiday weekend with children’s rides, traditional games and stalls, a wonderful carousel as centre piece, plus a giant wheel with views of all the area, and white knuckle thrills for the brave. Free admission, but on the 3rd you can buy a wristband for £2.00 and then enjoy half-price rides with the profits supporting Princess Alice Hospice.


Hampton Court Palace

30th March to 15th April, 11.00am-4.00pm: Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace in East Molesey. Take the family back in time and join the hunt around the home and gardens of Henry VIII. Once you’ve found all the Lindt Gold Bunny figures, pick up your delicious Lindt chocolate treat. Enjoy family activities and let your child’s imagination run wild in the Magic Garden, which reopens on the 30th March. Children can meet Princess Caroline, find out what her favourite sweet treat is and how it’s made; concoct their own Georgian style chocolate drink; and decorate their own ceramic chocolate cup. Included in normal admission.


Hounslow Urban Farm

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Baby Boom at the The Hounslow Urban Farm, Faggs Road in Feltham. There’s always lots going on at the farm throughout the year, especially at Easter when it’s baby boom time! Baby bunnies, baby goats, calves, piglets, lambs, chicks, turkeys and goslings will all be making an appearance, plus regular activities including animal encounters, feeding the animals, owl display, pig meet & greets, and indoor bouncy castle and outdoor play area. Spiderman will also be making an appearance on the 5th & 13th April. Normal entry fees apply.


Kempton Park Racecourse

31st March, 12.00-6.00pm: Easter Family Fun Day at Kempton Park Racecourse, Staines Road East in Sunbury-on-Thames. A great day of high energy racing with FREE entertainment for the kids including appearances from PAW Patrol’s Chase & Marshall at intervals throughout the day, pony rides, face painters, soft play, petting farm, inflatables, craft table, colouring station, and Easter egg hunt. Standard advance tickets £16.00 (children under 18 free when accompanied by an adult).


Kew Gardens

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-5.45pm: A Big Day Out With Peter Rabbit™ at Kew Gardens. Take part in an exciting adventure featuring Peter Rabbit and his friends. Take part in games and learn about the vegetables Peter found in Mr McGregor’s garden. Follow a trail based on Peter Rabbit and other famous Beatrix Potter characters, and discover Beatrix Potter’s links with Kew, her struggles to get recognised in the scientific community and how this led her to create her world-famous characters. Normal admission charges apply.


London Museum Of Water And Steam

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-4.00pm: Grand Easter Steam Up Weekend (30th March – 2nd April) and Eggsplore The Museum (3rd – 15th April) at the London Museum Of Water & Steam, Green Dragon Lane in Brentford. Over Easter weekend there will be four days of steam and fun for all the family. All of the Museum’s engines will be in steam, including the Victorian steam fire engine, and the Waterworks Railway will be giving unlimited free rides. Throughout the holidays, there will be drop-in arts & crafts activities, with the opportunity to make a bunny ears headdress and colouring in for the whole family, as well as an Easter trail around the Museum and gardens. The Waterworks Railway will run on Wednesdays and at weekends between 11.00am-4.00pm, and there will be live chicks in the museum until 6th April. Normal entry fees apply. London Wetland Centre

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-5.00pm: Dusty’s Giant Easter Duck Hunt at the London Wetland Centre, Queen Elizabeth’s Walk in Barnes. Take your friends and family and follow the Easter GIANT duck hunt around the Wetland Centre’s nature reserve to discover where they are hiding. You’ll need all your special detective skills to track them down. Look up as well as down – the ducks like to perch above you sometimes. They also love splashing around, so they won’t be far from the water. If you find them all you’ll win a prize! £1 per trail including a prize.


Museum Of Richmond

3rd to 6th & 10th to 13th April, 10.00am-12.00pm: Stone Age Jewellery (3rd – 6th April) and Bronze Age Beakers (10th – 13th April) Workshops at the Museum Of Richmond, Whittaker Avenue in Richmond. Discover more about life in early Britain. Each workshop starts with a short hands on introduction about how people lived in the past, using the Museum’s handling collection and concludes with making your own replicas to take home. For ages 5-11yrs. £5.50 per child (adults free). Booking essential and can be done online.


Osterley Park

30th March to 15th April, 10.00am-4.00pm: Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt: Bunny’s Easter Party at Osterley Park & House, Jersey Road in Isleworth. The Easter Bunny is holding an Easter party for his rabbit friends at Osterley this year, and you’re invited. See if you can find the Easter Bunny’s friends in the house, search the gardens to find the hidden eggs, unscramble the secret party password, and discover the plants and animals that make their homes at Osterley. There’ll be games and activities, and you’ll be able to collect your chocolate prize. Normal admission charges apply plus £3.00 per hunt (includes chocolate prize).


Squires Garden Centre

3rd to 6th & 9th to 13th April, 10.00am-3.30pm: ‘Create & Grow’ Easter holidays event at Squires Garden Centre, Sixth Cross Road in Twickenham. Children can plant a cute bug planter with indoor plants to take home and look after (£6.00), and take part in a Spring Hunt. Look for clues around the centre to help find the magical word and receive a gourmet chocolate pizza slice (£2.00)! Drop-in events, while stocks last.


Strawberry Hill House

30th March to 2nd April, 11.00-4.00pm: Eggcellent Strawberry Hill Hunt at Strawberry Hill House, Waldegrave Road in Twickenham. Children will be searching for Walpole’s ‘lost treasures’ hidden around the garden. All those whose who complete the treasure hunt will get a chocolate egg! £2.00 on the door, no booking required.


Try Twickenham 

29th March to 15th April, various times: Easter Bunny Trail around Twickenham. There are 26 bunnies in shops and businesses, each wearing their name tag. Print out your map and follow the trail to find where the bunnies are placed, then simply write the bunny’s name beside the corresponding business number. To win a free chocolate treat, you need to find at least 12 bunnies names. Correctly find all 26 bunnies and you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to WIN a fabulous family hamper filled with goodies from your local Try Twickenham businesses!
