We now have a general theatre listings which covers all the Christmas shows as well.


It’s that time of year when there are some magical family productions on at the theatre. Richmond Theatre is showing Sleeping Beauty, whilst the Rose Theatre in Kingston is showing The Wind In The Willows. A little further afield, Watermans Theatre in Brentford is showing Snow Play, the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith is showing Aladdin, and there are lots of performances of Cinderella and more! Here’s some basic information on the shows, with handy links to the relevant websites where you can also book tickets. Make sure you book early though to avoid disappointment!

Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith – Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas

18th November to 24th December

Lyric Hammersmith Raymond Briggs Father ChristmasJoin Father Christmas as he gets ready for his busiest day of the year, Christmas Eve. Watch as he prepares his Christmas deliveries, feeds his reindeer and finally takes flight into the snowy night. Full of merry touches with plenty of live music, songs and playful puppetry. Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith – Aladdin

19th November to 7th January

Aladdin Lyric HammersmithWhat would you do with three wishes? The Lyric’s traditional panto returns in 2016 when Aladdin flies into Hammersmith on his magic carpet for some festive fun in true Lyric style. Fresh for 2016, the show will be full of colourful characters, live music, lots of laughs and of course the magical genie. Running time TBC. Richmond Theatre – Sleeping Beauty

Hampton Hill Theatre – Cinderella

3rd December to 10th December

The infamous team that bought you the sell-out Sleeping Beauty is proud to present for Christmas 2016 – Cinderella. Enjoy the UK’s most popular pantomime – cheer poor Cinders, boo the Ugly Sisters and hiss the Wicked Step Mother with the best known rags-to-riches story ever told. Everything you’d expect in a traditional pantomime including oodles of bad jokes, loads of audience participation and tons of surprises! Running time TBC. Recommended TBC.

Rose Theatre, Kingston – The Wind In The Willows

6th December to 3rd January

Watermans Theatre, Brentford – Snow Play

8th December to 29th December

Snow Play WatermansWhat would you do if one year winter decided to stay and moved into your house? You would have icicles in the kitchen and snow all over your bed! Well that’s what happens in this snowy spectacular show where you are guaranteed a white Christmas, no matter what the weather or the time of year! When Mr Green comes back from holiday to find Mr White in his house it’s the start of a brrrrilliant series of adventures as Mr White covers the whole house in snow and Mr Green does everything he can to get him outside into the garden. The audience gets stuck in too with their own snow, making a snowman and joining in with a massive snowball fight. But it’s getting warmer and, as Mr White stars to melt, the tables might be turning… Snow Play is a showdown between Winter and Spring over who gets to stay and who has to go away! Running time TBC. Recommended 3-8yrs.

Hounslow Arts Centre – Cinderella

10th December to 30th December

This rags-to-riches tale is sure to have everyone laughing and singing their way to the ball this Christmas. Cinderella is treated as a servant by her jealous ugly stepsisters. She’ll need all the magic her fairy godmother can muster, along with the help of her best friend Buttons, if she is to meet her Prince Charming and find true love before the clock strikes midnight! You’re invited to enjoy the most enchanting fairy tale of them all. So, put on those glittery Primark pumps, put the pumpkin in gear, and get down to the Hounslow Arts Centre this December! Running time TBC. Recommended 4+yrs.

Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond – Extra Yarn

16th December to 7th January

extra yarn orange tree theatreOn a cold, dark day in a dull, grey town, Annabelle discovers a box of brightly coloured yarn. She knits a cosy jumper to keep herself warm and finds, to her surprise, that she still has extra yarn. So she decides to knit her dog Mars a jumper too but she STILL has extra yarn! Annabelle knits and knits and, soon, she’s blanketed the entire town in a rainbow of colour. Her fame spreads far and wide. It doesn’t take long for the evil Archduke to set his beady eyes upon Annabelle’s magical box of yarn but, little does he know, you have to have a bit of magic inside your heart for it to work. A quirky Christmas treat for all the family – a warm, woolly hug of music, enchantment and never-ending knitting! Running time 45 minutes. Recommended 3+yrs.

Chiswick House & Gardens – Cinderella

16th December to 31st December

chiswick house cinderella-squareFun for all the family, this pop-up immersive theatre event is a thrilling version of the classic tale. This production combines an eclectic mix of first-class performers. Expect dancing mice, acrobatic lizards, ballerina snowflakes and a crazy magician. Running time 2hrs inc interval. Recommended families & children 3+yrs.
