Beaumont House Day Nursery

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled” – Plutarch

Beaumont House Day Nursery logoBeaumont House Day Nursery is a new and exciting local nursery. It is run by a team of experienced nursery practitioners to offer a truly first class experience to children and their families. To them, early education is not about ‘filling an empty vessel’ but about ‘lighting a fire’, and they want to be part of your child’s journey of discovery. They are also offering no registration fee for Twick Mums members, or 50% off just by mentioning Twick Mums!

The UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum encourages staff to concentrate on how, as well as what, children learn, so the nursery concentrates on the characteristics of effective learning and developing a lifelong love of learning.

Beaumont House offers full day or half day sessions, as well as early starts and late finishes to help with parents’ working days. They are registered for early years entitlements from the local authority, which help reduce the cost of childcare, and can also help parents explore other avenues for help with childcare costs.

THE BEAUMONT HOUSE TEAM

Beaumont House Day NurseryThe nursery’s team is carefully chosen to reflect a balance of formal qualifications and experience, along with a passion for working with young children. The manager, deputy manager and all supervisors are qualified to at least NVQ 3 level and often to degree level or beyond. The majority of the rest of the staff is qualified to level 3, and the nursery has a culture of continuous professional development.

THE NURSERY ENVIRONMENT

The emphasis in the nursery is on learning through play. It has a large range of up-to-date resources to interest and stimulate children, set within a beautifully designed space. The nursery encourages independence, and the children are free to initiate their own play. Staff then support them with their choices and extend their learning.

Beaumont House Day NurseryThe nursery has an outline routine for the day, so children take part in some larger group activities as well as spending time in smaller groups with their key carer, following their own interests. There is a garden area at the back, so children spend time outside in all weathers as well as enjoying trips to The Green and other local destinations. The nursery is very much community based, and loves getting the children involved in local activities.

Beaumont House also invites outside teachers into the nursery to explore different activities such as music, children’s yoga, different languages and dance.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Beaumont House uses the four guiding principles of the EYFS to shape their practice:

– Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured

– Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships

– Children learn well in enabling environments where their individual needs are responded to and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents/carers

– Children develop in different ways at different rates. The framework covers all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Beaumont House Day Nursery can be found at 121 Heath Road, Twickenham TW1 4AZ. They encourage parents to visit to find out more about what they have to offer – just contact their Manager, Emma, for an appointment by phoning 0208 712 2297 or emailing manager@bhdaynursery.co.uk.
